Overview

Perception-Based Measurement

The Rhopoint Aesthetix Instrument Vision System is an optical tool that measures multiple aspects of surface appearance. The device uses dual cameras and innovative built-in lighting to measure parameters related to glossiness, sparkling texture, and color. It uses photometric stereo to produce representative topographical maps of certain materials and image analysis to detect and measure surface features, patterns, and defects. Codeveloped by Rhopoint Instruments and KU Leuven University, the instrument combines cutting-edge design with the latest human perception algorithms.

Aesthetix Sensor

The Rhopoint Aesthetix measurement sensor connects via USB-C to a suitable Windows PC or tablet.

Rhopoint Appearance Elements

Appearance Elements software works with the Aesthetix sensor to take measurements. The software is used for quality control functions, surface image analysis, viewing surface maps, accessing the results database, cloud data storage, results analysis, and reporting.

Backwards Compatibility - ISO 17025 Certified

Gloss measurement made with the Aesthetix is fully compliant with ISO 2813 and ASTM D523. The Aesthetix is supplied with ISO 17025 Gloss Standard and Certificate.

Small Parts & Curved Surfaces
